Discord has officially introduced its own soundboard in-app that you can use for voice channels. The soundboard will allow you to use all kinds of sounds in voice channels, whether you want to have fun or to troll friends. This feature was an experimental that was only available to a small number of communities. However, it will now be rolling out in the “coming weeks,” according to a Discord blog.
However, there is one catch: Discord’s desktop app will not allow you to make sound with Discord’s soundboard. Kellyn Sloane (director of product communications) tells that mobile users can hear the sounds, but cannot use the board themselves. However, official Discord soundboards are still an improvement over previous versions of the app, which required third-party software such as Voicemod to access a soundboard.
You can adjust the volume of Discord soundboards to your liking in the settings menu, according to , a Discord support documentation. You can also limit the users of your soundboards on your server by setting permissions.
A new benefit for Nitro subscribers is the ability to upload sounds to different servers. This is just one benefit that Nitro subscribers will get. They’ll be able to use their uploaded sounds across different servers. New Super Reactions are available to Nitro subscribers. These add animated flair to an Emoji reaction and all Discord desktop members will receive two Super Reactions at launch.
