Elon Musk created a company that is dedicated to artificial intelligence. It’s called X.AI. The Wall Street Journal was the first to report this. According to a Nevada filing, Musk is listed as the company’s director, and Jared Birchall as its secretary. Birchall is also the director of Musk’s family office. The filing, which obtained indicates that Musk formed the business on March 9, 2023.

Since days, rumors about Musk launching an AI company are circulating. reports from business insider revealed that Musk purchased thousands of graphics processing units (GPUs), which will power an upcoming product generating AI. Financial Times reported in a similar way , that Musk was planning to start an AI company to compete against the Microsoft-backed OpenAI. Musk reportedly even sought funding from SpaceX investors and Tesla investors in order to start the company.

Musk has been tagging his “everything” app with the label “X”. This is in line with his X Corp. branding that he assigned to Twitter.

Musk is openly against OpenAI, an AI organization he cofounded in 2015, but left in 2018. Musk said that AI is “more dangerous” than mismanaged aircraft designs, production maintenance, or poor car production in an -interview with Fox News’ Tucker Carlson, which will air on Fox News next week.

He said: “It has the potential to destroy civilizations, however small the probability may be. It is not trivial.”

Musk was co-founder and former CEO of OpenAI, a leading artificial intelligence firm. He left the company after an internal power struggle in 2018.

He has been recruiting artificial intelligence engineers to work on a new venture since months.
