Microsoft Teams now has new animated backgrounds and refreshed backgrounds. The virtual backgrounds have been updated in Teams the most since the initial collection was launched in 2020. New options allow you to replace the mess behind you with a beautiful scene.
These will initially be a collection of still images, followed by animated versions in the month of June. Microsoft has released some details about the new background images, but we will have to wait until June to see how they compare with the animated backgrounds that Zoom offers.
Microsoft’s design team revealed in a blog post that the new visual library has been designed with all-new images to reflect the people who use Teams and their preferred working style. We noticed, by analyzing the popularity of specific images, that customers were equally excited about being represented in fun and creative scenes as well as being portrayed in realistic settings like a home, office or coworking space.
Microsoft Teams backgrounds are available in six different categories, such as those that feature wood and light, or modern backgrounds. Others have colorful clouds and mountains, while others are based on contemporary backgrounds. Backgrounds are available that are accessible to people with autism and are made to cater to their needs. These patterns are part of the “belonging category” that includes vision, hearing and mental health.
Microsoft Teams 300 million active monthly users will be able to use the new backgrounds starting today.
