Samsung announced Tuesday that its next Galaxy Unpacked, where the company typically unveils new smartphones and gadgets, will take place in late July. It will be held in Seoul for the first time. The 2023 Unpacked event will focus on foldables, just like other Unpacked events in recent years.
In a press release, TM Roh said that the foldable category embodies Samsung’s philosophy to deliver innovation which pushes boundaries in order to reshape future mobile experiences. “Host Unpacked in Seoul is of great importance, as Seoul has emerged as a center for innovation and culture. It also represents the foldable category.”
According to a rumor that surfaced in May, this year’s Unpacked might take place on the 26th of July. Samsung states that the Unpacked events focusing on foldables are now being held in cities “that closely align” with the theme of the event.
The July date means that Unpacked is a little earlier than usual. Last year, , it was in August. Samsung announced the Galaxy Z Flip 4 at that event, and the Z Fold 4 was also revealed. I expect both smartphones to be updated this year. The Z Flip 5 will reportedly have a larger outer display while the Z Fold 5 will reportedly be thinner when folded. Hot foldable summer indeed!
