The Chromebook Flip CX5 is sturdy enough to handle all sorts of jostles and jolts in a briefcase or backpack, and it has a velvety texture which makes it very comfortable to hold. A wide selection of ports, a comfortable and smooth keyboard, and an impressive display make this chassis a contender for midrange Windows laptops.

Performance of the CX5 is also impressive. In our tests, we never heard the fan even when putting it through a heavy workload that would slow down most devices. The battery life was excellent and lasted all day. The CX5 has some of the loudest sound we’ve heard on a Chromebook. The CX5 may not be perfect, but it is currently the best Chromebook available.

The Asus Chromebook Detachable CM3 has the best detachable computer with a detachable display and built-in pen. The tablet has a dual-folding kickstand that allows it to be folded so that it can stand up like a computer or horizontally.

The Chromebook Detachable CM3 from Asus is Asus’s attempt to compete against Lenovo’s Chromebook Duet, which has been highly praised. The CM3 is a Chrome OS tablet that measures 10.5 inches and has a 16:10 aspect ratio. It also features a fabric case, a kickstand and a removable keyboard. The Duet is a little more expensive, but it also comes with a few additional features.
The kickstand can be folded in two different ways. You can either fold it long to use it as a laptop stand, or short to use it horizontally. This feature is not very practical, but there are some uses for it. The Chromebook Detachable Cm3 is a great option for those who don’t want to pay extra money.
The CM3 comes with a built in USI stylus and keys that have a surprising amount travel. The battery life was impressive: we averaged over 13 hours of continuous use.
The CM3 isn’t the best Chromebook because it only has two ports, one USB-C port and one audio jack. Its MediaTek processor also wasn’t as fast as more expensive options. If you are looking for a Chrome OS convertible device but find the Duet does not meet your needs, then you may be the CM3 target audience.
